Whether you’re a die-hard football fan, love to watch the commercials or would rather be socializing in the kitchen, a Taco Stadium is the perfect way to entertain your guests. Seriously, who doesn’t like tacos? I’ve seen a lot of awesome Snack Stadiums and wanted to make one for the main meal. With enough variety, vegetarians, people who eat gluten free, dairy free or low carb can pick and choose to make a taco to their liking.
I went to the dollar store thinking that I would use square vases in the stadium, and found a couple of different sized plastic containers with lids that I liked even better. When I got home, my husband took over measuring everything while I worked on the food. This took us a little over an hour to cut and assemble and I love how it turned out!
Supplies needed to build your stadium:
- 3 foam core boards (All outside walls are 5 inches high. Inside walls are 3 inches high)
- Hot glue gun + glue
- Green felt (9×16 inches)
- White ribbon
- Paper to cut numbers from
- Containers to put food in
- Wooden skewers to make the goal posts and for food labels
Cut all of the foam core boards, keeping 1 piece for the base of the stadium. Tape the perimeter pieces together, then glue them onto the base. Add the inside pieces, gluing to attach once the spacing is determined. Add green felt to the center and glue into place. Cut out strips of white ribbon and numbers from paper and glue to the felt. Print out ‘Touchdown’ and names of food, cut and glue to wood skewers. Poke into top of foam core. Add bowls of food and serve!
